I am not always one that is drawn to non-fiction books, but having been a passionate follower of Malala and due to the increasing sense of awe that would envelope me whenever I would see her on television I thought it would be ridiculous to not give this book a read.
Its unsurprising that such a young woman, with so much life experience and such a mature out-look on her existence is able to write so fluently and with such meaning. I found myself gripped to her every word as though she were in my room retelling her stories to me herself.
Not only is she an excellent feminist and amazing advocate for education for girls, she possesses a rhetoric talent that she isn't putting to waste. Not only is this evident in her amazing speeches (which we learn she succeeded in at a young age) but it is also clear in her ability to write her own story.
We join Malala through her trials and tribulations in her home country of Pakistan before and after her devastating run-in with the Taliban. Her story is one of ups and downs and I can guarantee an emotional rollercoaster for all readers.
There is not much I can say that can do justice to her life, her experiences really do transcend what can be expressed by the English language, but Grazia put it best, saying simply;
"Inspirational and powerful...extraordinary"
